Located 45 minutes north of the Parliament Buildings in Victoria and 55 minutes south of Nanaimo, the area boasts the warmest average climate in Canada of 51° F and is ideal for vacationing anytime of the year

The town of Duncan is 10 minutes north with many unique shops located in the Old Town area. Duncan is dubbed the City of Totems paying tribute to the extensive native ancestry. The Cowichan Native Village introduces visitors to the legends and traditions of northwest coast natives through photos, carving, demonstrations, genuine Cowichan sweater weaving, films, dancing, music and art.

Cowichan Bay Marina

Located right in the picturesque, seaside village of Cowichan Bay, we are convienent to a variety of fine restaurants, cafes and pubs.

Buy a home-made ice cream and stroll through the village. Visit the marinas, the wooden boat museum , Arthur Vickers Art Gallery, pottery studios and unique gift shops. There is an organic bakery and cheese shop, plus beer and wine stores.

For the more adventurous there are kayak rentals and an excellent whale watching tour co. Boat rentals can also be arranged.

Cowichan Village

Cowichan Bay is located right in the heart of wine country. The Cowichan Valley is home to at least twelve vineyards and a popular cidery. Most offer wine tastings and a few offer excellent lunch and dinner menus. At the end
of the harvest season, the Cowichan Valley hosts a popular Wine Festival Weekend. Most of the vineyards participate, offering a wide variety of live entertainment, food and wine! Makes for a fun, get-a-way weekend.

The Quw'utsun' Cultural Centre located in Duncan (10 min. drive) offers an authentic First Nations experience, interpretive tours, traditional art work and a special Riverwalk Cafe with authentic Native cuisine.

The B.C. Forest Museum offers a train ride and an informative display of B.C.'s Forestry History. There is also a Birds of Prey sanctuary nearby, which offers daily flying demonstrations of rescued Owls, Hawks and Eagles.

For sports enthusiasts, there are three excellent Golf Courses, offering a variety of tournaments throughout the year. For tennis lovers, the South Cowichan Lawn Tennis Club offers 7 grass and 2 hard courts to play on. There are, of course, many hiking and biking trails, water sports, fishing, sailing, boating and horse back riding activities available in the area.
